Every party comes to an end - Megalomania 999 has split up!!!

- by Megalomania 999, 25-11-2009

Megalomania 999 has now come to the end of a long and incredibly entertaining journey.

After 4 1/2 years loaded with tons of metal, concerts, recordings and great parties we have now come to the conclusion that we want to stop on the top...allowing each other to seek new adventures in different directions in the future.

We have long been moving in different musical directions, and we have now come to a moment, where it is impossible to find a direction that will satisfy all of us simultaneously. Furthermore, we all play in different bands which are closer to our individual musical favourite styles, so it simply seems like the right moment to let Megalomania 999 step down in order to give us the time and energy to focus on these bands instead.

We know this comes as a complete surprise for all our friends, fans and crew members, but we hope you all agree that it is the right solution to save our friendship and great memories by stopping in time.

We have been offered a tour in order to support the recent release of the “Rebirth”-album and we would truly have loved to party with all of you again on a final tour. However, it has simply proved impossible to coordinate our calendars, not least because a certain band member has moved the hell away and dedicated the next months to saving the climate + all 5 band members have busy schedules afterwards with their other bands.

Instead we now look forward to hook up with our many great metal friends whenever a cool band visits a Danish venue + when we hit the road again with our new bands:

- Rune continues in the fast and intense death metal band “Bloodrush”

- Louis and Ricky continues in the groovy stoner metal band “The Shit Blizzards”

- Flemming and Andi continues in the exotic avantgarde metal band “Mezmerizer”

Thanks so much for all the good times – Megalomania 999

Thanks for an unforgettable release party!!!

- by Megalomania 999, 14-09-2009

We would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to all our great friends and all the cool metalheads who made the release party of our new "Rebirth" album completely unforgetable.

Thanks for buying so many albums and t-shirts, thanks for all the warm comments and thanks for partying crazy with us all night long.

And a very special thanks to Numbnuts, Fearmonger and Shit Blizzards for adding so much extra to the party with your cool shows and great party spirits.

Truly a night to remember - Megalomania 999

Album release party 11/9 2009

- by Megalomania 999, 29-08-2009

The release of our new album "Rebirth" will be celebrated with a huge release party on Friday the 11th of September 2009 at the venue Posten, Odense.

This is a very special night for us and we surely hope to party with all our old and new friends. As always we'll do our very best to keep the party spirit flowing from the stage as well as anywhere else at the venue.

Furthermore, we are strongly supported by two of Odenses most entertaining metal bands - the newcomers Shit Blizzards (featuring Ricky and Louis from Megalomania 999 + Obelix from Stilhed) as well as our old friends Numbnuts who play their first show in over a year this night, as a release concert for their new EP.

Last but definitely not least we are truly happy to announce the first full-length show with Fearmonger - the new cool band of our former singer Nikolaj Balle.

The doors open at 20.00 and the time schedule will be more or less like this:

21.00 Shit Blizzards
21.45 Fearmonger
22.30 Numbnuts
23.30 Megalomania 999

As always, each band is willing to play extra songs, so give all the guys a blast of response so we can keep the party going on all night ;-)

What a perfect biker party!!!

- by Megalomania 999, 23-06-2009

Even though we are officially on holiday after recording the new album, we spent this weekend the best way possible = by playing a concert at our Swedish metalbrothers Mean & Clean MC's huge biker party at their headquarter outside Malmø.

Needless to say that it was an ultra exciting day for everyone, and we wish to send a huge hail to all our new Swedish friends + thank Jimmy Redbeard, The Duke, Crazy, The Vice Prez, The Treasurer and everyone else from Mean & Clean for the warmest welcome we've ever received and for meaning every word when you invited us to feel at home in your club!!!

We are already looking much forward to party with you guys again - Megalomania 999

The new album is recorded!!!

- by Megalomania 999, 01-06-2009

We have now finished 8 incredibly busy and creative days in the PowerSound Studio and are really happy to announce that our second album is recorded and sound very promising already.

The next weeks will be spent on the production of the album and we are still pretty optimistic about sticking to the planned release date the 9th of September 2009.

It's still far too early in the process to guess what the final sound of the album will be like, but already now we have a really good feeling and trust in the producers. They are wonderfully easy, funny and cool to work with and furthermore they have a much better hunch of our sound-preferences than anyone we have worked with before.

Huge cheers to Peter, Michael and PowerSound!!!

Location, producers and date for the recording of the next Megalomania 999 album

- by Megalomania 999, 24-04-2009

Megalomania 999 will enter the local Power Sound studio from the 21st of May in order to record our next full length album.

After working with famous producers Tommy Hansen and Jacob Bredahl in the past we have chosen a less famous producer team this time, but nevertheless we have even higher expectations to the result than ever before.

First of all, it is a dream coming true that after many years without a decent studio in our hometown Odense, we are now blessed with 2 really great studios (Power Sound + Bazzi's "Big Ass production" where we recorded last week).

Secondly, the choice was really simple after the Sound Engineer Michael Hansen recently got employed at Power Sound. Michael is famous for his many great live productions of Megalomania 999 plus tons of other metal bands. Furthermore, we heard his amazing work on the forthcoming Mindmare album. Last but not least, we have had one million talks with Michael over the years concerning the sound on various albums, and nobody knows our taste better than him.

In addition, Flemming and Andi checked out the studio facilities yesterday when they recorded a single track for their side project. And everything worked so well, that we now rest assured that Megalomania 999 can look forward to a smooth and rather troubleless album recording.

For these reasons we have full confidence that Michael and the rest of the Power Sound guys are the perfect producer team for Megalomania 999's next album, and we simply can't wait to start the recordings in less than a month from now.

Rumour control: There's no war AT ALL between Megalomania 999 and Memorial

- by Megalomania 999, 24-04-2009

Recently a lot of our friends have asked us about the so-called war between Megalomania 999 and our beloved tour-fellows Memorial.

At first we didn't have a clue what the fuzz was all about but soon we realised that some of Memorials humouristic coments in an interview had been misunderstood due to their - in our opinion - fantastic use of sarcasm and irony.

Both bands are really sorry about the misunderstanding and want to emphasize that everything is still perfectly well between all members of both bands. In order to avoid further possible misuderstandings in the future Kurt from Memorial sent us the following statement (in Danish), which we support 100%:

New track recorded live to the Hell Comes Around vol. 2 compilation

- by Megalomania 999, 17-04-2009

Like all our local metal brothers, Megalomania 999 will appear on the "Hell Comes Around - the second coming" compilation cd.

We also appeared on the H.C.A vol 1 cd 2 years ago (with the track "Dignity" from The Thougtprovoking Theatre album) but this time we decided to come up with something a little more special. We therefore willingly accepted the challenge when our great friend and producer-genious Bazzi suggested that we recorded a live track at his Big Ass Production studio.

Like all other bands these days we are used to "cheat" in the studio, using all kinds of technical help to sound better than we actually are. But this time we recorded the whole rhytm section live and didn't change anything at all afterwards = what you hear is exactly how we play, without the use of overdubs, beat detective, triggers, editing etc.

For technical reasons the vocals and solos had to be recorded afterwards but we did our very best to keep the live feeling on these recordings as well.

We all love the result and have already begun to dream about recording a whole album this way whenever the timing is right. It is increadibly difficult to have four guys peaking at the exact same time but damn it feels good to play without a safety net. The result will never be 100% flawless on this kind of recordings, but instead the intensity is so much more in your face. And the sound...well, let's just say we rest assured that Bazzi is able to prove that he truly knows what he is doing ;-)

What a wonderful tour ;-)

- by Megalomania 999, 06-03-2009

We would like to thank all the wonderful metalheads who showed up at the Revolution Music Tour and thereby helped to make it a great experience for life - not least beacuse quite a few of you chose to come back over and over again for more gigs on the tour. Awesome ;-)

We are extremely lucky to have met so many old and especially new friends all over the country and we cant wait to come back and party with all of you again.

A very special thanks goes to our friends for life in the other bands from the tour: Memorial, Downswitch and Hatred Conspiracy.
